Kokowagayo is the first all-womens cooperative in Sumatra. While women carry key roles in coffee production, they are traditionally excluded from economic decisionmaking. A group of bold women formed this all-womens cooperative to give economic power to female coffee growers. Kokowagayo strives to increase the role and capacity of women in coffee farm and financial management. This group of business-oriented women are paving the way for redefining gender norms in Sumatra.
Permata Gayo supports its sister cooperative with training and export services, guaranteeing consistent and exceptional quality. While the concept of an all-womens cooperative in the region is innovative in the primarily Muslim Ache region, it is a natural progression as girls receive equal education and women business leaders become increasingly prevalent.

I use this for both hot and cold and flavor is rich and smooth either way.
Good value! However, it was not as good in some mornings. Maybe it was the speed we poured the coffee or the grinder being inconsistent.
The coffee tastes great and I got it on sale and it's totally worth it.
It's a really good sumatra. Would definitely get it again.
Excellent freshness with the (recent!) roasting date right on the bag. Brewed up very nicely in my French press - lovely flavours. Blending with 1 tbsp coconut oil per 500ml really seemed to complement the coffee better than adding a bit of half and half. I do like a bit of a deeper flavour, though, so my next purchase focused on espresso beans which I brewed as regular coffee in my French press. Still, I would buy this coffee again.
