Propeller Coffee Co. is a Toronto-based specialty coffee roaster founded in 2013 and located in the city's Junction district. In a few short years it earned international recognition, named Roast Magazine's Micro Roaster of the Year in 2016 — an honour reserved for roasters at the forefront of quality, sustainability and community. Today Propeller is a fixture of Toronto's specialty coffee scene, serving home brewers, cafés and offices across Canada.
Sustainability sits at the heart of the company. Propeller is a certified B Corporation, operates a low-footprint roastery, uses biodegradable packaging and offsets its transportation. Its sourcing is built on direct trade relationships, buying high-quality green coffee from experienced farmers and aiming to purchase the majority of its beans directly from producers. Every batch is cupped and analysed to ensure it meets the standards customers have come to trust.
The result is a versatile range of whole bean coffee, from modern and traditional espresso blends to dependable medium and dark roasts and a Swiss Water Process decaf. With mellow acidity and rich body across many of its roasts, Propeller's coffee works beautifully through an espresso machine or an everyday drip brewer.
