Carlo's Bake Shop traces its roots to 1910, when Italian pastry chef Carlo Guastaferro opened a small bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey. In 1964 the business was purchased by Bartolo Valastro Sr., and it has remained in the Valastro family ever since. Today the bakery is run by his son, Buddy Valastro, who became a household name as the star of Cake Boss on TLC.
Known for its elaborate designer cakes, cannoli, lobster tails, and Italian pastries, Carlo's grew from a neighbourhood bakery into a brand with locations across the United States.
