Easy to use. Produces great coffee. The key is using the correct bean. Oily beans are not recommended for this machine but the always helpful staff at ECS pointed us to the I.XXI 88 MPH. Perfect. Looking forward to using the espresso style and ice options. Cleanup is minimal. Thanks.

First you have to look at the target audience for this coffee maker. This is a coffee maker, not an espresso machine. This is probably the most automated coffee maker I have seen in a price point I find acceptable, even more automated than the Keurig K-Cups machine. My wife wants convenience and don`t like espresso machine and find them too much work or overpriced which is why we looked into this machine, a fully automated drip coffee machine.

This Delonghi TrueBrew is a fully automated single serve machine with a size and strength setting. So far it took us a few try to find the beans we prefer but now that we have found the type of beans we like, this is a game changing machine for us. No more K-Cup plastic pod to throw away every single time, plus with the quantity of coffee we drink this machine will pay itself in less than a year because the cost of the whole beans vs K-Cups is way cheaper based on our annual consumption. It look expense at first but we are saving vs the K-Cups.

The machine functionality are great, just what you need and simple. Coffee strength, cup size (with the coffee strength that will adapt to coffee cup size, the simulated espresso mode or the over-ice mode are also great feature. We like pretty much everything about the machine. The reservoir could be a tinny bit larger or have direct connection feature and it would be a big winner. You choose your mode and just wait for the coffee to grind and brew, no need to add water, add coffee or collect the waste of coffee once the brew is over, it all falls down into a little bin that you have to empty after a few cups.

Taste wise, with the cup size feature, the strength and the type of grain you pick this is awesome and flexible enough, you will definitely find the combination that you like and more flexible than any other single serve coffee maker I used in the past.

Unfortunately, this machine offers practically no settings to set it up according to your taste buds.

The grinder cannot be adjusted, and the coffee strength selector has only 3 buttons, and in my case, the "gold" setting, which is basically the middle choice, was too strong for my liking, and the "light" button felt like I was tasting the water.

The machine itself sounded very strong, but the user definitively needs to me more in control to create the perfect cup of coffee, which is what I was expecting from this item.

This takes nothing off the wonderful knowledgeable staff at ECS, they are simply the best.
