Concerned about the plastic waste generated by conventional coffee pods, San Francisco Bay invested years of research into a better solution and helped pioneer a single-serve pod made entirely from plant-based, commercially compostable materials — cellulose and plant fibres rather than plastic. The pods are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute, and the company sums up its goal simply: "From Pod to Sod."

The OneCUP pods are designed to work with K-Cup-style single-serve brewers, including Keurig machines, though the company is independent and not affiliated with Keurig. Every cup uses 100% Arabica coffee, hand-picked and grown at high altitude for quality and consistency.
