Abbott

The story of the Abbott collection began in 1949 when founder Ben Abbott arrived in Canada from England. Armed with entrepreneurial drive and a single product—a unique pie crimper—Ben famously sold out his entire stock on his first day at the Canadian National Exhibition. Recognizing a thriving market for innovative kitchenware and gifts, he established Abbott of England in Toronto, Ontario. By the 1960s, the company had grown into a cornerstone of the Canadian giftware industry, operating its own plaster factory to manufacture classic urns and vases to accompany popular floral trends.

In the decades that followed, the second and third generations of the Abbott family joined the business, shifting the focus toward designing proprietary, trend-forward home accents. The company's motto, "We search the world for your business," prompted extensive travels across Europe and Asia to source distinctive tableware and decor. Today, headquartered in Toronto with permanent showrooms in Mississauga, Abbott offers thousands of carefully developed products, ranging from stoneware mugs and serveware to elegant seasonal ornaments, all valued for their craftsmanship and creative flair.

What differentiates Abbott from conventional home decor brands is their focus on storytelling through everyday objects. Their team collaborates with global artisans to create exclusive, whimsical, and elegant patterns that elevate simple kitchen accessories into conversational pieces. Whether crafting a heavy, textured stoneware mug or a colourful holiday accent, Abbott prioritizes durable materials and accessible price points, allowing independent retailers and consumers to build uniquely personalized spaces without compromising on quality.
