Countertop Ovens, Toasters & Air Fryers
Explore premium toasters and ovens from leading brands known for design, durability, and performance. From handcrafted British classics to modern Italian designs and feature-rich North American models, these are countertop appliances selected for their quality, longevity, and everyday usability.
A toaster is built to do one thing extremely well: brown bread quickly and consistently. A countertop oven is a much broader category — today's premium models roast, bake, air fry, broil, and toast, often replacing a full-size oven for everyday cooking. Most households end up wanting both: a dedicated toaster for daily bread and bagels, and a countertop oven for everything else that used to require heating a full-size oven. If counter space is tight, a countertop oven with strong toast functions can cover both jobs reasonably well, but a dedicated toaster will always out-perform an oven's toast setting for pure speed and consistency.
It comes down to what you value most. If matching your kitchen's design is the priority, look at brands offering a wide colour range that coordinates across small appliances. If you want smart features like bread-type presets or motorized lowering, look for a brand known for that kind of engineering. And if you want solid build quality and colour variety at a fair price without paying for extra features, a straightforward mid-range option is usually the better fit. None of these answers are wrong — they just serve different priorities.
In most cases, a quality countertop oven with air fry capability makes a standalone basket-style air fryer redundant. Look for models with maximized airflow technology — often marketed as "super convection" — which produces the same crispy results as a basket air fryer while also functioning as a full oven capable of roasting, baking, toasting, and broiling. The only real advantage a standalone basket air fryer keeps is a smaller footprint and slightly faster heat-up for very small quantities. If you have the counter space, buying the combined oven and skipping the separate air fryer is usually the better long-term choice.
If you're replacing a low-cost toaster every 2–3 years, it's worth doing the math. A well-built toaster with fully replaceable parts and a handled-in-Canada warranty costs more upfront, but many owners get 15–20 years out of one. Spread over that timeframe, the cost per year is often lower than repeatedly replacing a cheap unit — and you're not sending several toasters to landfill along the way. This isn't the right call for everyone; if you don't mind replacing a toaster every few years and just want something functional, a solid value option is a perfectly reasonable choice. But for anyone tired of the replace-every-few-years cycle, it's worth considering.
We are an authorized service centre for trusted brands like Technivorm and Breville in Canada. Our in-house service technicians and wide range of parts ensures support beyond your machine purchase.
We actually use the equipment we sell. Our brewers & espresso machines have been used by our team in our showroom, evaluated for coffee quality, and chosen because we'd put it on our own counters. We don't stock drip brewers just to fill a category.
Unlike big box retailers, we carry the beans to go with the brewer. Our team can recommend the right grind size, coffee origin, and dose for the machine you're buying. The brewer and the coffee are two halves of the same result.
Family-owned since 1997, ECS Coffee is Canada's destination for coffee, espresso gear, and expert service. We know which machines last, which ones fail, and what proper maintenance looks like over a 10-15 year ownership cycle.
