On most Saturday mornings during this pandemic summer a pal has come over for a socially distanced veranda visit. She loves good, strong, smooth, dark coffee, and so she loves Black Bear. One morning I said I was all out, so she said she’d rather have tea than my coffee alternative. I fully understood — nothing else compares. It’s a little expensive, so I allow myself just one of these a day before switching to my second-choice blend.

Although I love Muskoka coffee, i found the Bear brew to be a bit too strong and robust for me. The Loon and Wolf coffee brands are my favourites, and all of the brands have fully compostable pods.

I liked it the first time I tried it, after I bought it at the Balderson Cheese Factory. I always ordered Barista Italian Dark Roast pods from Costco online, but it's no longer available from them and I think this is an even better dark roast coffee.
