If you’re looking for a solid, everyday coffee without paying specialty-coffee prices, Mother Parkers Original Medium Roast is a pretty easy recommendation.
The medium roast hits a nice middle ground. It has enough flavour to keep things interesting, but it isn’t overly dark, bitter, or smoky. I find it particularly good for that first cup of the morning when I want coffee that tastes like coffee...not a science experiment in a mug.
The 925g can is also a big plus. You get a lot of coffee for the money, making this a practical choice if you drink several cups a day or are stocking up for the office. I use it with a french press, but it also works well in a standard drip coffee maker and doesn't require any special brewing technique to get a decent cup.
Is it going to replace a premium small-batch roast? Probably not. But that's not really the point. Mother Parkers delivers a reliable, smooth, affordable everyday coffee that does what it's supposed to do.
